Bunker Roy and Malala Yousofzai won top U.S. award
Indian Environmentlist Bunker Roy
and Pakistan’s Education Activist Malala Yousofzai have been declared winners of
the prestigious ‘Clinton Global Citizen awards’. Roy is the founder of the
Barefoot College, which has been providing solutions to problems in rural
communities for more than 40 years. Sixteen-year-old Yousafzai, who, after
being shot by the Taliban less than a year ago for her outspoken support for
girls' education, has co-founded the Malala Fund to continue advocating for
universal access to education.
The earthquake was so powerful that it caused the seabed to rise and create a small, mountain-like island about 600 meters (yards) off Pakistan's Gwadar coastline in the Arabian Sea.

The United States Geological Survey said the 7.8 magnitude quake struck 145 miles (235 km) southeast of Dalbandin in Pakistan's quake-prone province of Baluchistan, which borders Iran.The earthquake was so powerful that it caused the seabed to rise and create a small, mountain-like island about 600 meters (yards) off Pakistan's Gwadar coastline in the Arabian Sea.
